I grew up living
inside Tanglewood Park located beside the Yadkin River between
Clemmons and Bermuda Run, NC. At that time the park was owned
by the brother of major tobacco entrepreneur, R.J. Reynolds.
My dad was the park maintenance supervisor. After the park was
closed in the evening my brother and I had a huge playground
all to ourselves with lots of animals like deer, raccoons and
ducks. We rode horses, swam in the pool, played on the golf course,
and enjoyed our huge playground.
In 1979 I began working
towards a career in professional photography by taking Photography
I, II, and III courses at Forsyth Technical Community College
in Winston-Salem, NC.
As Staff Photographer
at the Alderman Company, High Point, NC, and as Photo Illustrator
at the Photographic House in Dover, NJ, I was responsible for
planning and execution of various commercial photographic assignments.
As a Senior Commercial
Photographer at Norling Studios in High Point, NC, I was responsible
for assisting the studio manager in planning, scheduling, and
execution of various photographic assignments and projects. I
also acted as Studio Manager on a temporary basis during the
Studio Managers absence.
As a Freelance Photographer
in several major commercial photography studios in High Point,
NC, I was responsible for project planning and execution of various
Photography Honors and Awards

the Professional Photographers Association of America during
my commercial photography career. I received thirteen Certificates
of Merit from Professional Photographers Association for
